Another stellar Billy album and probably his most radical opener ("Karmalarm"). All anchored by a low-fi powerpop "I Want to Hold Your Hand" for the ages, with the honorable RSM on a lead guitar solo in lieu of a third verse. A similar Berlin Bowie-esque treatment of the Elvis wedding classic "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" sends the track over the moon.

Honestly, there's never been a better example of a band willing themselves into rock gods as GBV does here. The fact that the album starts with a "GBV" chant when no one outside Dayton knew who they were yet isn't arrogant - it's prophecy. What a killer rock record.
