Careful. Your attention is slipping.
Keep your eyes and ears on a nearby
screen at all times. Don’t lose focus.

Remember, there are two kinds of
people in this world: those who make
things and those who package them.
You’re a packager now.
You’ve found your place.

Who wants to make things? It’s people
like you who keep the economy going.
That’s the most important work of all,
if you take a step back and think about it.

And all you’ve got to do to keep
everything humming along smoothly
is to stare at your screen, click, tap,
and type your way through the day.
You’re lucky to have it this easy.
Sure, it may not be exciting. But it pays the bills.

Don’t fight it. Yeah, you can be creative
on the side, but that’s just going to make
you sad in the long run. Instead, maybe
spend some time with your coworkers.
Assimilate their tastes. Cozy up to
someone high up in the business affairs
department and plunder their interests
for things to enjoy.

No one ever said you wouldn’t need
entertainment to take your mind off
of work, but won’t it be so much better
when your appetite is so broad you can
have things in common with almost
everyone you meet?

Who said “average” is bad? Be patient.
Give it some time. It may not be exciting.
But it pays the bills.
